Volunteering

 

Meaningful and fulfilling voluntary work needs adequate framework conditions. We want to contribute to such conditions – providing voluntary work that fits the needs and competences of the volunteers. We specifically advocate self-determined participation in local voluntary initiatives.

Mobility Scouts Sensitisation Handbook for stakeholders at local level

This Sensitisation Handbook addresses institutions, organisations and companies responsible for or having an impact in the designing and shaping of public spaces and providing services to older citizens. The handbook is available here in Germand and English (see download section below). Further language versions (Italian, Dutch, Lithuanian) are available on www.mobility-scouts.eu.

Mobility Scouts Toolkit for Practitioners

The Mobility Scouts Toolkit for Practitioners was developed with the aim of summarising our experiences and to provide practical guidelines on how to involve older men and women in decision-making and empowering them to contribute to the creation of age-friendly environments and services. The Toolkit is available here in German and English (see download section). More language versions (Italian, Dutch, Lithuanian) can be found on www.mobility-scouts.eu.

Working areas

The project„VoluntLearning Pro“ was funded in the framework of the EU Lifelong Learning Programme Grundtvig. The partnership has collected examples of good practice and framework requirements for a successful promotion of volunteering. The compendium "Freiwilligenarbeit mit Erfolg!" presents the results of this joint work.

Engagiert gesund bleiben. Partizipation und Gesundheitsförderung älterer Frauen und Männer auf kommunaler Ebene

This publication promotes the healthy activation of older men and women in rural and urban communities. The Guide contains guidelines and manifold examples for the implementation and support of respective projects. The publication has been revised and re-issued in 2016.

Engagiert gesund bleiben. Seniorinnen und Senioren im Porträt

In this publication ten portraits of older volunteers are collected. These volunteers give an insight into their work and motivations and tell us about the benefits of voluntary work. The portraits show the numerous and manifold possibilities to contribute to our communities and give an idea about the positive effects on the health of older men and women. The publication has been revised and re-issued in 2016.

Senior Guides Curriculum

Working areas

This curriculum was developed in the project "Senior-Guides" that is carried out in the European Lifelong Learning programme "Grundtvig". The publication provides many practical and helpful instruments and tipps for the trainings of older men and women who would like to plan and organise projects for their peers.
