Objectives
The Fonds Gesundes Österreich (FGÖ) has initiated „Auf gesunde Nachbarschaft!“ already in 2012 to
- raise awareness for the health promoting effects of good neighbourhoods,
- promote healthy ageing in the community,
- encourage organizations and people to implement new neighbourhood initiatives and
- contribute to capacity building in Austria.
Implementation
The fourth phase of the initiative „Auf gesunde Nachbarschaft!“ has ended in 2024. Six projects in five Austrian regions focussed on the health promoting potential of good neighbourhoods. Phase IV of „Auf gesunde Nachbarschaft!“ had two priorities:
- Caring Communities
- Participation and generation friendly communities
Phase V is currently in preparation.
A nation-wide campaign (e.g. website, Social Media, events) and networking activities accompany the work in and for the regional projects.
Together with zwanzigundzwei, queraum supports the FGÖ in successfully carrying out the initiative.
