Regional Networks on Early Prevention Austria

Ziele

The overriding goal oft the Regional Networks on Early Prevention is to support families expecting children or with young children in crisis situations. Regional Networks on Early Prevention try to network the assistance provided by the health system and the child and youth welfare sector as effectively as possible. Experts ("Familienbegleitung“" support families during a longer period of time and make sure that the families receive all support and information they need.

Furthermore, a network-management is responsible for establishing and supporting cooperation within the network of existing forms of assistance.

Based on the Austrian ideal model Regional Networks on Early Prevention will be established and further developed in 2015/16.

Implementation of the evaluation

queraum is responsible for the summative evaluation of the project and has developed an evaluation design which covers three levels: families, networks and experts accompanying families ("FamilienbegleiterInnen") and the cross-project level.

queraum has chosen a participatory approach, which is based on easily accessible and scientifically recognised methods. In case studies with selected families the method of participatory photo-interviews will be used. Furthermore, experiences of the experts accompanying the families and managing the networks are collected in guideline-based interviews and focus groups. At the beginning of the evaluation process, queraum is going to analyse quantitative data on families which have already been supported.
