Evaluation

Objectives

The project “Wert-voll“ (“Value-able“) of the Institute for women’s and men’s health focuses (migrant and non-migrant) girls and young women between 12 and 18 in Vienna. To deal critically with concepts of femininity and masculinity, is an important prerequisite for the fight against threats of/fascination for radical ideologies. Those together with religious and cultural education influence values and identities – and these are at the centre of the project. 60 workshop series that aim to strengthen alternative concepts of femininity are organized in various out-of-school youth and girls’ centres. The contents are developed together with the target group and the institutions. In addition, groups of girls will get the possibility to present themselves and their ideas and concerns in and via small projects. Another focus is on the staff members of youth centres – they are trained to work as multipliers for the issues at stake.

Implementation of the evaluation

queraum is responsible for the evaluation of the process as well as the results of the project activities (process / results evaluation). To support the project team continuously in the planning and implementation process and to promote learning in and from the project, queraum carries out a structured reflection with the team. In the context of the result-oriented evaluation work, the effects of the workshops on the participating girls / young women are evaluated by means of a low threshold questionnaire. Furthermore, participatory observations are carried out in the workshops. The multipliers are asked about the usability of the new knowledge and their satisfaction with the training. In addition, staff members and managers of the youth centres are interviewed to assess the benefits for the target group, successes, room for improvement and the sustainable effects of the project activities.
